About Polygonum spergulariiforme Meisn. ex Small
Polygonum spergulariiforme Meisn. ex Small is a North American species of flowering plant in the buckwheat family. It has two common names: spurry knotweed and fall knotweed. This species grows in western Canada, where it is found in British Columbia and Saskatchewan. It also grows in the western United States, with most populations located in Washington, Oregon, and northern and central California. A small number of isolated populations also occur in Idaho, Wyoming, and Montana. Polygonum spergulariiforme is a green, branching herb that can reach up to 50 cm (20 inches) in height. Its leaves are narrow and grow up to 6 cm (2.4 inches) long. Its flowers are pink or white, arranged in dense, elongated clumps. This plant flowers from June to October, which is a later flowering period than that of many of its close relatives.
