Polygonum minimum S.Watson is an annual herb species. It produces slender, stiff, zigzag-angled reddish stems that grow up to 30 centimeters (1 foot) long. Stems can grow either prostrate or erect. Its leaves range in shape from lance-shaped to widely oval or nearly round. Leaves are located all along the stems, but are most crowded near the stem tips. Inflorescences grow in the leaf axils. Each inflorescence bears one or more five-lobed white flowers.
