Polygonella gracilis (Nutt.) Meisn. has Polygonum tenerum as a synonym; this species of flowering plant is commonly known as tall jointweed, slender jointweed, or wireweed. It is an annual flowering plant in the Polygonaceae family. It can reach up to five feet in height and bears small, wiry stems. Its flowers are white and pink, and the species is dioecious. It produces reddish-brown achenes. This plant grows in sandhill and dry pineland habitats. It is native to the southeastern United States, where it occurs in parts of Florida, Georgia, Mississippi, North Carolina, South Carolina, and southern Alabama.
