About Pogonocherus hispidulus (Piller & Mitterpacher, 1783)
Pogonocherus hispidulus (Piller & Mitterpacher, 1783) can reach a body length of 5–8 millimetres (0.20–0.31 inches). Its basic body color is gray-black, and it has a wide whitish transverse band on its scutellum. Its antennae have white markings, and each elytron has a long tooth at the apex. Adult Pogonocherus hispidulus can be found from April through August. This species has polyphagous larvae that feed on small dead branches and dead twigs of deciduous trees. The development of this beetle usually takes two years. This beetle is distributed across most of Europe, the Caucasus, Russia, the Near East, and Turkey. This species lives on deciduous trees and shrubs.
