About Podosphaera plantaginis (Castagne) U.Braun & S.Takam.

This fungus, Podosphaera plantaginis, forms thin, white, irregular patches on the leaves of its host plants. It infects narrow-leaved plantains, including Plantago lanceolata. This same host plant can also be infected by Golovinomyces sordidus, and no macromorphological differences between these two fungal infections are currently known. Because of this, records of P. plantaginis from these narrow-leaved plantain hosts are best confirmed via microscopic examination.
