About Podosphaera amelanchieris Maurizio
This fungus forms a thin, light, weak coating on the leaves of its host. It rarely causes distorted host growth when growing from the underside of leaves. Like most species in the Erysiphaceae family, Podosphaera amelanchieris is highly host-specific, and only infects plants in the genus Amelanchier. Another powdery mildew species that also infects the Amelanchier genus is Phyllactinia amelanchieris, which produces weak, very thin, often smooth growth on the undersides of leaves.
