About Poa arctica R.Br.

Poa arctica R.Br. is a perennial grass species that spreads via rhizomes and often has purplish coloration across its tissues. Its stems grow between 7 and 60 centimeters in height. The leaves of this grass are narrow, smooth, and hairless, with ligules that measure 2 to 7 millimeters long. Its reproductive flowering panicles range from 3.5 to 15 centimeters long, have an open, sparse structure, and carry between 10 and 40 spikelets. The spikelets themselves are 4.5 to 8 millimeters long, compressed along their sides, and hold 2 to 6 florets each. The glumes of Poa arctica are lanceolate in shape, sometimes keeled, and usually smooth, with moderately prominent veins.
