About Plusiodonta coelonota Kollar, 1844
This moth species has a wingspan of approximately 25 to 36 millimeters. Males have minutely ciliated antennae. The head and collar are rufous, while the thorax and abdomen are greyish brown. Forewings are reddish brown, suffused with golden bronze, and more or less irrorated with bluish grey scales. Indistinct waved antemedial and medial lines are visible, alongside an oblique double sinuous postmedial line that angles below the costa. Both the orbicular and reniform markings are indistinct. There is a very irregularly sinuous submarginal golden band with dark edges, which is interrupted at vein 3. Hindwings are dark fuscous, and the cilia are pale. Mature larvae are purplish black with grey specks and streaks, with pinkish patches on the 7th and 11th somites, and a reddish head. The larvae of this species feed on plants of Stephania japonica and Smilax australis.
