About Pluchea foetida (L.) DC.

Pluchea foetida (L.) DC. grows between 40 to 100 centimeters tall, which equals roughly 1.31 to 3.28 feet. Its stems are glandular and most often dark purple. The leaves have an oblong to elliptic shape, and measure 3 to 10 centimeters long, approximately 1.18 to 3.94 inches. This species flowers from July to October, and its corollas range in color from white to yellow or pink. The native range of Pluchea foetida within the United States runs from New Jersey south to Florida, and extends west to Texas. Across this native range, P. foetida is classified as both an obligate and facultative wetland species. It grows in seasonal wet environments, depressions, and freshwater wetlands.
