About Pleromelloida conserta Grote, 1881

Pleromelloida conserta is a moth species in the family Noctuidae, first described by Augustus Radcliffe Grote in 1881. This species is distributed across North America, ranging from British Columbia to California, extending east to Utah and north to Saskatchewan. Until recently, the black-colored form of P. conserta and the grey-colored form previously classified as P. obliquata were considered two separate species. Pleromelloida conserta has a wingspan of 30 to 33 millimeters. Adult moths are active in spring, and the species produces one generation per year. The larvae of this moth feed on the leaves of Symphoricarpos species, including Symphoricarpos albus.
