About Platylobium obtusangulum Hook.
Platylobium obtusangulum, commonly known as the common flat-pea, is a shrub endemic to Australia. It belongs to the genus Platylobium in the plant family Fabaceae. This species grows as an erect or straggling shrub, reaching up to 1 metre in height. Its leaves vary in shape and measure between 1 and 3 cm in length. Flowers appear in spring; they are yellow with a red centre, held on short pedicels that are hidden by overlapping bracts. After flowering, the plant produces pods that are 14 to 25 mm long and 10 to 14 mm wide. The species was first formally described by botanist William Jackson Hooker in 1833, published in the Botanical Magazine. It occurs naturally in South Australia, Tasmania, and Victoria.
