About Platanthera transversa (Suksd.) R.M.Bateman

This erect orchid grows from a bulbous caudex, reaching a maximum height of around 55 centimeters. Its basal leaves can grow up to 19 centimeters long and 4 centimeters wide, while leaves located higher up the stem are much smaller in size. The upper section of the stem forms a spikelike inflorescence that holds many flowers. The flowers are white or yellowish with green veining, are fragrant in the evenings, and are described as having a scent similar to cloves. This orchid is pollinated by geometrid moths.
