About Platanthera integra (Nutt.) A.Gray ex L.C.Beck

Platanthera integra, commonly called the yellow fringeless orchid, is a species in the orchid family that produces yellow flowers. It is native to the Southeastern United States, where its distribution extends from eastern Texas to North Carolina; there are also a small number of isolated populations located in Delaware and New Jersey. Even though Platanthera integra has a relatively wide overall range, the species is classified as vulnerable because it has very few known occurrences. This vulnerable status is mainly caused by ongoing loss of its native habitat, which consists of open wet savannas and bogs.
