Platanthera grandiflora (Bigelow) Lindl., commonly known as the greater purple fringed orchid, is an orchid species belonging to the genus Platanthera. Its distribution ranges from Ontario to Newfoundland, extending south along the Appalachian Mountains to northeastern Georgia, with one isolated population located in Illinois. It is classified as imperiled in Georgia, Tennessee, Virginia, and North Carolina, and is presumed extirpated in Ohio.
