About Pistacia mexicana Kunth
Pistacia mexicana Kunth, commonly called Mexican pistache, American pistachio, or wild pistachio, is a plant species belonging to the Anacardiaceae family. It occurs naturally in Guatemala, Mexico, and Texas in the United States. This species is currently threatened by habitat loss. While goats will browse its leaves, Pistacia mexicana is not widely used as a food source, because its small seeds are often empty and not edible.
