Pinus teocote, commonly called teocote, is a conifer species belonging to the Pinaceae family. This species is endemic to Mexico. Mature individuals reach 20 to 30 meters in height, with a trunk diameter of up to 75 centimeters. The trunk is straight, and it has a dense canopy. It grows at elevations ranging from 1,500 to 3,000 meters (equal to 4,900 to 9,800 feet). In its native habitat, most rainfall falls during the summer season. Its wood is white-yellowish in color and of moderate quality. Its resin is used to produce turpentine.
