About Picradeniopsis absinthifolia (Benth.) B.G.Baldwin

Picradeniopsis absinthifolia, commonly known as hairyseed bahia or desert bahia, is a North American flowering plant species belonging to the family Asteraceae. It is native to multiple Mexican states: Tamaulipas, Nuevo León, Coahuila, Chihuahua, San Luis Potosí, Querétaro, Hidalgo, Durango, and Aguascalientes. In the United States, it is native to the southwestern states of Arizona, New Mexico, and Texas; populations recorded in Utah are thought to be introductions. This is a perennial plant that grows up to 40 cm (16 inches) tall. It produces yellow flowers that contain both ray florets and disc florets. It grows in sandy soil within desert regions.
