About Physaria tenella (A.Nelson) O'Kane & Al-Shehbaz
Physaria tenella is a species of flowering plant in the mustard family Brassicaceae, with the common names Moapa bladderpod and slender bladderpod. It is native to western North America, ranging from Utah to Sonora, where it grows primarily in desert habitats. This species is an annual herb that produces multiple hairy, multibranched stems that grow erect to spreading, sometimes reaching over half a meter in length. Its basal leaves grow up to 6.5 centimeters long, and may sometimes have toothed edges; smaller leaves are found higher up on the stems. Flowers are arranged in a raceme inflorescence at the tip of each stem. Like other mustards, the flower has four petals, which range in color from orange to bright yellow and measure up to one centimeter long each. The fruit produced is a plump, hairy, rounded capsule that holds flat orange seeds.
