Phyciodes phaon, commonly called the Phaon crescent or mat plant crescent, is a species of butterfly. It occurs in Florida, the neighboring U.S. states, and west as far as New Mexico. It has been present in Cuba since the 1930s, and also occurs in the Cayman Islands, where it is referred to as the crescent spot.
