About Phricanthes flexilineana (Walker, 1863)

Phricanthes flexilineana is a moth species belonging to the family Tortricidae. It was first formally described by Francis Walker in 1863. The original specimens used to describe the species came from Sri Lanka, northern Queensland (Australia), and the Seychelles, but the species actually has a much broader distribution. Its known range additionally includes Madagascar, India, Indonesia, Myanmar, New Guinea, the Philippines, and Taiwan, and it is also widely found across tropical regions of North America and South America. Recorded host plants for the larvae of Phricanthes flexilineana are Tetracera volubilis, Dillenia indica, and Davilla nitia.
