About Photedes minima Haworth, 1809

Technical description and variation: The wingspan of Photedes minima ranges from 20 to 23 mm, and the forewing length measures 11 to 14 mm. The forewings are pale ochreous, lightly dusted with darker scales, and washed with pale ochraceous. In females, the median area is usually a slightly deeper color, particularly in its lower half. The inner and outer lines are fine, obscure, and conversely lunulate-dentate, with teeth extending along the veins; they are sometimes edged paler, and are generally only marked by vein dashes. The subterminal line is faint, preceded by a diffuse dark shade that forms a patch at the costa. The hindwings are ochreous, suffused with grey, becoming more thickly suffused towards the termen, with traces of a dark outer line. Some specimens are more strongly suffused with ochraceous or rufous; these specimens form the aberration lutescens Haw.
