This species, Phostria dohrni Snellen, 1895, has the following wing characteristics. Both the forewings and hindwings are yellow. On the forewings, the costal margin is brownish-yellow, the apex is broadly purplish-brown, two lines cross the wing from the costal margin to the inner margin, and a small brown dot sits in the cell. On the hindwings, the apex and outer margin are purplish-brown, and a large U-shaped brown mark extends from the costal margin across the wing; a waved line runs from near the lower side of this U-shaped mark to the inner margin.
