About Phoenix loureiroi Kunth
Phoenix loureiroi Kunth includes both solitary and clustering individuals. Its trunks reach 1โ4 m (3.3โ13 ft) in height and 25 cm (9.8 in) in width, and are usually covered by old leaf bases. Leaves vary somewhat between plants, but typically grow up to 2 m (6.6 ft) in length. Leaflets are wide at the base and have sharply pointed tips, emerging from the leaf rachis at varying angles to form a stiff, plumose leaf structure. Fruits are single-seeded drupes that turn bluish-black when ripe. These fruits are produced on erect yellow inflorescences that are usually hidden within the plant's leaf crown. This species is known to exhibit significant variability across different habitats.
