The blue-fronted redstart, with the scientific name Phoenicurus frontalis Vigors, 1832, is a bird species that belongs to Muscicapidae, the Old World flycatcher family. This species breeds in central China and the Himalayas. It winters in the southern foothills of the Himalayas, as well as in southern Yunnan, the Patkai region, and northern Indochina. Its natural habitat is temperate forests. Female blue-fronted redstarts are brownish-grey, with paler underparts.
