Phlox amoena Sims, commonly known as hairy phlox, is a flowering plant belonging to the phlox family. It is native to the Southeastern United States, where it grows in sandhills, dry woodlands, and open areas with native vegetation. This species is a perennial that produces purple-pink flowers during the spring. It can be told apart from the similar-looking Phlox pilosa by its more compact, non-glandular flowers.
