About Philotheca reichenbachii Sieber ex Spreng.
Philotheca reichenbachii is a shrub that typically reaches a height of 1 metre (3 feet 3 inches). It produces upright branchlets that are covered in stiff hairs. Its leaves grow crowded near the ends of branchlets, and are linear or roughly cylindrical in shape. The leaves are glandular-warty, measuring 10 to 20 millimetres (0.39 to 0.79 inches) long and 1 to 1.5 millimetres (0.039 to 0.059 inches) wide. Flowers grow singly, or in groups of two or three, on the ends of branchlets. The flowers have broadly triangular sepals that are 1 to 1.5 millimetres (0.039 to 0.059 inches) long. Petals are pink to purple, lance-shaped, and 10 to 15 millimetres (0.39 to 0.59 inches) long. The stamens are densely hairy and joined along their lower half. Flowering takes place from August to December. The fruit is oblong, and measures 5 to 6 millimetres (0.20 to 0.24 inches) long. This philotheca grows in heath, on rocky or sandy sites, in the Sydney region.
