About Phemeranthus calcaricus (S.Ware) Kiger

Phemeranthus calcaricus, commonly called the limestone fameflower, is a flowering plant species belonging to the Montiaceae plant family. It is native to limestone glades in two regions: the Interior Low Plateaus spanning Tennessee, Kentucky, and Alabama, and the Ozark Mountains of Arkansas. Most of its populations are located in the Nashville Basin of Tennessee, where it can be locally abundant on exposed limestone in high-quality glades. This species is a small, succulent perennial, and it is uncommon across its entire native range.
