About Phalaenostola hanhami Smith, 1899

Phalaenostola hanhami, commonly known as Hanham's owlet or Hanham's snout moth, is a species of litter moth in the family Erebidae. This species was first described by J. B. Smith in 1899. Its distribution range covers parts of North America, where it occurs from Nova Scotia, extending west across Canada to central Alberta, and south into Massachusetts and New York. This moth has a wingspan measuring 22 to 25 millimeters. Adult individuals of this species are active in flight from June through August.
