About Phacelia crenulata Torr. ex S.Watson
Phacelia crenulata Torr. ex S.Watson is an aromatic annual plant that can grow up to 80 centimeters tall. Its entire structure is covered in stiff, glandular hairs. Mature leaves range from 2 to 12 centimeters in length; the largest leaves grow around the base of the stem, while leaves positioned higher on the stem are much smaller. Most leaves are oblong in shape, with wavy or lobed edges. The plant produces an inflorescence made up of a coiled cyme that holds several individual flowers. Each flower has a bell-shaped purple or blue corolla that reaches up to one centimeter in length. The corolla has a white tube, and its throat is sometimes white as well. Both the stamens and style extend noticeably far out from the opening of the flower. After flowering, the plant produces a somewhat rounded capsule fruit that is just a few millimeters wide.
