Petrophila jaliscalis is a moth species that belongs to the Crambidae family. This species was first described by Schaus in 1906. Its known distribution includes Jalisco, Mexico, as well as the area ranging from Alberta in Canada to Texas, Arizona, and California in the United States. The forewings of adult individuals measure between 7 and 11 mm in length. Adult moths of this species have been recorded in flight throughout nearly the entire year. The larvae of Petrophila jaliscalis are aquatic, and they are thought to feed on algae.
