About Pergularia daemia (Forssk.) Chiov.
Pergularia daemia (Forssk.) Chiov. has opposite leaves that range in shape from broadly ovate to suborbicular. Leaf size varies greatly, and petioles also differ in length. The upper leaf surface is nearly hairless, while the lower leaf surface is velvety. In the northern hemisphere, flowers develop from mid to late winter, and are borne on lateral cymes. The flower corolla forms a greenish-yellow or dull white tube. Fruits mature after approximately 13 to 14 months, at which point they release ovate seeds covered in velvety hairs. This species ranges from the Malay Peninsula to Burma, India, Sri Lanka, Pakistan, and Afghanistan, extending through Arabia and Egypt into central and southern Africa. It grows along roadsides, in woodlands, and along the edges of riparian forests.
