Penstemon humilis Nutt. ex A.Gray is a species of flowering plant in the plantain family. It goes by the common names low beardtongue and lowly beardtongue, and is native to the western United States. This species is a woody perennial herb or subshrub that can grow up to 35 centimetres (14 in) tall. Its basal leaves form a mat around the base of the plant, and its flowers are narrowly tubular. Penstemon humilis occurs in sagebrush, pinyon-juniper woodland, mountain forests, and tundra habitats.
