Pedicularis rainierensis Pennell & Warren is a perennial herb with fibrous roots. Individuals of this species grow 1.5 to 4 decimeters in length. Its stem is unbranched, topped with a spikelike raceme of flowers. The corolla is yellowish, about 1.5 centimeters long, and two-lipped. This species produces numerous basal leaves, which measure 5 to 15 centimeters long and up to 3 centimeters wide. Its fruit capsules are hairless, flattened, and often slightly winged.
