About Pediasia luteella (Denis & Schiffermüller), 1775

Pediasia luteella is a species of moth belonging to the family Crambidae. It was originally described by Michael Denis and Ignaz Schiffermüller in 1775. This moth occurs across most of Europe, and is not found in Ireland, Great Britain, the Netherlands, Norway, Sweden, or the Iberian Peninsula. To the east, its range extends further to include Central Asia, the northern Caucasus, Transcaucasia, southern Siberia, and Mongolia. Adult moths emerge in a single generation each year, active from the end of May through mid-July. The larvae of Pediasia luteella feed on Festuca ovina and plant species from the genus Poa.
