About Pattalias palustris (Pursh) Fishbein

Pattalias palustris (Pursh) Fishbein is a plant species in the family Apocynaceae, commonly called Gulf Coast swallow wort. It is a perennial vine. This species is native to the southeastern United States, ranging from North Carolina to Texas, as well as to Mexico, Belize, Cuba, the Bahamas, the Turks and Caicos Islands, and the Cayman Islands. In Florida and Alabama, it grows in dunes, salt marshes, and coastal hammocks. It was originally classified as Cynanchum angustifolium, then later reclassified as Seutera angustifolia, before Fishbein reclassified it as Pattalias palustris in 2017.
