Paspalum floridanum Michx. is a species of grass with the common name Florida paspalum. It is native to the eastern United States. This is a rhizomatous perennial grass, with stems that can grow taller than two meters. Its leaf blades reach up to 52 centimeters long, and range from hairless to hairy, with a dense layer of hairs located behind the ligules. Its inflorescence is a panicle that can have up to 6 branches. The paired spikelets are generally oval-shaped and measure just a few millimeters long. This grass grows in disturbed, wet habitat types, such as ditches, and also occurs in woods and marshy areas. Its seeds serve as a food source for birds.
