About Pasiphila debiliata (Hübner, 1817)
Pasiphila debiliata, commonly known as the bilberry pug, is a moth species belonging to the family Geometridae. Its distribution extends from Europe eastward to southern Siberia, the Amur region, and Japan. Adult moths have a wingspan ranging from 17 to 19 millimetres, or 0.67 to 0.75 inches. The base wing colour is a faint, delicate pale green, with weakly defined crosslines that are most prominent along the wing veins. Two distinct morphs are recognized: the ab. nigropunctata Chant, which only displays the main wing lines, marked as strong dots on the veins, and the grisescens Dietze, which is a silvery grey colour with no green tint at all. All forms have a visible discal spot on the wings. Mature larvae are light green and covered in scattered, fine, pale bristles. Adult moths are active and in flight from June to July. The larvae feed exclusively on Vaccinium myrtillus.
