About Paropsisterna m-fuscum

Paropsisterna m-fuscum is a leaf beetle belonging to the subfamily Chrysomelinae, and it is native to Australia. This beetle species can reproduce in very large numbers, making it a serious pest for the forestry industry. It is an invasive species that causes problems for Blue Gum trees in California, USA. Adult beetles are pale in base color, with variable brown markings covering their elytra and pronotum, and sometimes have bright flaring at the base of the elytra. Its larvae are pale green, matching the color of the leaves they feed on.
