Paronychia rugelii, commonly known as Rugel's nailwort and sand-squares, is a plant species native to the U.S. states of Georgia and Florida. It grows in woodlands and on disturbed sites at elevations below 200 m (667 feet). It is an annual herb that reaches up to 50 cm (20 inches) in height, with hairs covering nearly all of its above-ground parts. Its leaves are ovate to lanceolate, growing up to 6 mm (0.24 inches) long, and its flowers are a mix of reddish-brown and white.
