About Parodia mammulosa (Lem.) N.P.Taylor

Parodia mammulosa (Lem.) N.P.Taylor is a perennial globose cactus with a flattened apex and dark green surface, growing to around 15 cm in diameter. This species has approximately 18 vertical ribs that bear large pointed tubercles. It produces around 12 radial spines, which are needle-shaped and grow up to 1 cm long, while a single central spine grows up to 2 cm long. The flowers bloom in spring, are typically pale yellow, and reach approximately 5 cm in diameter. This species is native to Argentina, Uruguay, and the Rio Grande do Sul state of Brazil.
