About Parkia speciosa Hassk.

Botanical description of Parkia speciosa Hassk., commonly called petai: This tree can grow up to around 30 metres tall. It produces flowers arranged in a light bulb-shaped mass at the end of long stalks. The flowers secrete nectar that attracts bats and other pollinators. The tree develops fruits as long, twisted, translucent pods, which grow in clusters of seven or eight pods. When the pods are mature, they contain petai beans, which are the seeds of the plant.
