This species occurs in the geographic range from Mexico to the Guyanas, Paraguay, and northern Argentina. Its native habitat is forests. The wingspan of this butterfly reaches approximately 37 mm. The larvae of Pareuptychia ocirrhoe feed on plants from the Eleusine genus.
