About Pareuchaetes insulata Walker, 1855

Pareuchaetes insulata (Walker, 1855), commonly called the yellow-winged pareuchaetes, is a moth species that belongs to the subfamily Arctiinae. Francis Walker first described this species in 1855. Its known range includes Cuba, the Antilles, southern parts of the United States (specifically Arizona, Florida, South Carolina and Texas), the Dominican Republic, El Salvador, Guatemala, and Nicaragua. The wingspan of adult moths measures 26 to 38 mm. Adult moths can be found in flight throughout the year, but they are most abundant between April and November. The larvae of this moth feed on a variety of plant species, including Chromolaena odorata, members of the Ageratum genus, and Hernandia sonora.
