About Parantica agleoides (C.Felder & R.Felder, 1860)
This species is structurally similar to Parantica aglea, but differs in the following features: Vein 11 of the forewing is not anastomosed with vein 12. The semihyaline streaks and spots on both the forewing and hindwing are shorter and narrower. This difference is especially noticeable on the hindwing, where the black margin beyond the streaks covers a larger area than it does in P. aglea. The short, slender streak located between the apices of the two cellular streaks on the hindwing is longer than in P. aglea, and it is always free, never joining either the upper or lower cellular streak. On the underside, the ground colour has a browner tint than that of P. aglea. The male sex-mark of this species is of form 2. Its range covers northeastern India, Burma, and Indomalaya, extending as far as Java.
