Paracotalpa puncticollis is a species of beetle belonging to the Scarabaeidae family. It is commonly known as the punctate little bear. Its geographic range extends from California to New Mexico in the United States. This beetle is typically found in piñon-juniper ecosystems, where it feeds on juniper leaves. Very little published research exists on this species; the last journal article covering it was released in 1972. The overall biology of P. puncticollis is poorly understood, but what is known is that the species is active between February and May each year, with its peak activity occurring in April.
