Paracolax tristalis, commonly known as the clay fan-foot, is a litter moth that belongs to the family Erebidae. This species was first formally described by Johan Christian Fabricius in 1794. It is distributed across the Palearctic realm. The wingspan of this moth ranges from 28 to 35 mm. Depending on its location, the adult moth is active in flight from June to August each year. The larvae of Paracolax tristalis feed on a wide variety of shrubs and deciduous trees.
