About Papaipema lysimachiae Bird, 1914

Papaipema lysimachiae Bird, 1914, commonly known as the loosestrife borer, is a moth species belonging to the family Noctuidae. This species occurs in a range extending from New Brunswick to Georgia, west to Illinois, and north to Wisconsin and Ontario. The wingspan of adult loosestrife borers measures 28–35 mm. Adults are active in flight from August through October each year. The larvae of this species bore into the stems and roots of Lysimachia quadrifolia.
