Panicum flexile, with the full scientific name Panicum flexile (Gatt.) Scribn., is commonly known as wiry panicgrass. It is a species of flowering plant belonging to the grass family Poaceae. It is primarily native to eastern North America, where it has a scattered and localized distribution. It typically grows in open mafic or calcareous areas that can be either wet or dry, and it is especially associated with limestone. Panicum flexile is a fairly delicate annual grass. It can be told apart from other similar-looking Panicum species by its long-acuminate spikelets, which are arranged in a slender, elongated panicle.
