About Panemeria tenebrata (Scopoli, 1763)

The wingspan of Panemeria tenebrata (Scopoli, 1763) ranges from 19 to 22 mm. Its forewings are dark fuscous, mixed with red brown tones and sprinkled with pale grey scales. The inner and outer lines on the forewing are indistinctly darker. A dentate, cloudy dark fuscous median shade is present, and a darker shade precedes and defines the subterminal hue. The hindwings are blackish, with a deep yellow outer fascia that does not reach the inner margin. In the aberration obscura Spul., the black borders of the hindwing are wider, and the white band is smaller.
