About Pandemis cinnamomeana (Treitschke, 1830)
Pandemis cinnamomeana is a species of moth belonging to the family Tortricidae. Its geographic range extends from Europe (excluding southern Europe) eastwards through Russia to the Korean peninsula and Japan, and it also occurs in multiple provinces of China: Heilongjiang, Jilin, Shanxi, Shaanxi, Sichuan, Jiangxi, Hubei, Hunan, and Yunnan. The adult moth has a wingspan of 18 to 24 millimeters. In western Europe, adult moths are active in flight from the end of June through July. The larvae of this moth feed on the foliage of a wide variety of plant species: Abies alba, Acer, Betula, Larix, Malus pumila, Picea sitchensis, Prunus, Pyrus, Quercus, Salix, Sorbus aucuparia, Sorbus commixta, Ulmus davidiana, and Vaccinium. Feeding on Camellia has also been recorded. The larvae live among leaves that have been bound together with silk. Young larvae enter hibernation to overwinter, and they resume their development in May and June. Pupation takes place in June and July, inside the larval leaf shelter.
